SUMMARY PLAN DESCRIPTION: 2022
NO SURPRISES ACT
No Surprises Act- Notice
In compliance with the “No Surprises Act,” the Fund is providing access to “machine readable” files reflecting IBX’s in-network negotiated payment rates and historical out-of-network charges for covered items and services, including prescription drugs provided under the medical plan. The data in these files will be updated monthly. These files may be accessed through these links:
The machine readable files are the first of three steps required by the No Surprises Act to provide both the public and individual Participants with greater information about the cost of health care. The first step is making available machine-readable files, which are digital representations of data or information in files that can be imported or read by a computer system for further processing without human intervention. Following that step, in 2023, the Fund will be required to make an internet-based self-service tool available to participants that contains personalized out-of-pocket cost information and the underlying negotiated rates for 500 covered healthcare items and services and, thereafter, in 2024, the Fund will expand those tools to cover all items and services.
